Once again in my excitement I took no before pictures! Just use your imagination to picture medium brown tables with very tired and worn brown/gold leather tops with gold metallic trim. They were probably really beautiful in their day, but lets face it...that day has passed.
I had read from a post on one of the furniture parties I frequent (if I remembered whose I would certainly give credit) that spray paint worked fabulously on tired old leather. Since I decided the tables should have a French flair to go along in my booth with the finished settee here's what I came up with.
I first sprayed the leather black, applied vinyl rub on letters that read Je t'aime Paris, painted over them again with silver spray paint, and finally removed the letters. I painted the previously brown tables white, distressed the edges and lastly rubbed the now silver leather with black shoe polish giving it a zinc like quality.
They came together pretty quickly and compliment the settee beautifully!
Now off to the next project...in between making pies, peeling potatoes and the other things that come with hosting a Thanksgiving dinner. Here's to hoping your holiday turns out to be fabulous and stress free!
